Commissioned by the UK Department for Prisons, this film highlights the ‘Purposeful Prisoner Working’ scheme, supporting rehabilitation through meaningful work in prison and beyond.

This film for Purposeful Prisoner Working (PPW) was shot inside prisons to show how connecting inmates with meaningful work through GFSL teams can build confidence, skills and a sense of purpose.
Filming in such a challenging environment required sensitivity, adaptability and trust — qualities that allowed us to capture authentic testimony and show the humanity behind the prison walls.
The result is a powerful and respectful film that highlights the role of purposeful work in rehabilitation and the importance of recognising the human stories behind each prisoner.
